Full and Part Time Flight Director Positions available


The Flight Director position is one part educator and one part actor during simulated student missions and related programs. Flight Director educators are challenged with facilitating programs with realism and a focus on both educational and inspirational impact. 

General Requirements:

  • Degree in education or a STEM-related field
  • Experience working with students in an educational setting
  • Schedule flexibility to facilitate on and off-site programs
  • Ability to handle props and lift at least 40 lbs.

Major Job Duties

  • Flies missions with students and adults 
  • Sets and resets simulators before and after missions 
  • Participates in fine-tuning mission-related mission materials and other educations resources
  • Collaborates to develop STEM programs and activities for school and public guests
  • Participates in outreach activities through public events, volunteer opportunities and fundraisers
  • Assists with maintenance and care of education supplies and facility
  • Seeks out opportunities for professional development and learning about the STEM fields and space exploration

Specifics

  • FULL TIME: 40-hour work week with occasional evenings and weekends
  • PART TIME: per program schedule
  • Work and vacation days follow the ASD20 calendar
  • Salary based off of years of experience and commensurate with local teacher salaries
  • PERA, Individual Health Plan

This temporary Summer Camp Instructor facilitates our 4- and 5-day Aerospace Adventure Camp sessions. 

General Requirements:
  • Degree in education or a STEM-related field
  • Experience working with students in an educational setting
  • Ability to handle props and lift at least 40 lbs.
Major Job Duties
  • Implements program curriculum with students in an exciting and engaging manner 
  • Supervises campers and volunteers during sessions 
  • Adjusts activity flow for specific group of campers
  • Maintains activity supplies and reports needs to center staff
  • Assists with packing of supplies for transport to next location
